This is the end user licence agreement for Agnos, version 2.x, made by Gidion ("we", "us"). "You" means the person or organization using the software.
Installing or using Agnos means you accept this agreement.
1. What you get
A licence to use Agnos on your own computers, for your own work. You do not buy the software itself, and this is not a transfer of ownership.
1.1 The trial
A new installation of Agnos may be used with everything Pro includes for 14 days from the first time it is opened, with no licence key and no payment. The trial is for deciding whether to buy Agnos; datasets exported during it are yours to use. When the trial ends, Agnos keeps working without a licence (importing, cleaning, previewing and Review), but exporting needs a licence. Nothing you made is deleted. Resetting or repeating the trial on the same computer is not permitted.
1.2 Pro
Agnos Pro is a one-time purchase, for one named user, on up to two devices: devices that person uses, such as a desktop and a laptop.
- Commercial use is included, including work on client documents.
- It includes every Pro feature shipped in the version you install. There is no quota on how much you export and no monthly processing credits. The limits on file size, batch size and what your hardware can handle still apply, and are the same on every plan.
- It includes all 2.x updates of Agnos, and your 2.x licence does not expire. There is no subscription and nothing renews. If we stop publishing updates, the copy you have carries on exactly as it is.
- A future major version (3.0 and later) may be a separate, optional purchase. Nobody has to buy it to keep what they have.
1.3 Company Pack
The Company Pack is a one-time purchase of one team licence for up to five named users within one legal entity (one company or organization). It is bought in one purchase, with one company invoice, and delivered as one licence key that can be active on up to ten devices at a time.
- Each user gets exactly what a Pro licence gives, on up to two devices; the team as a whole, on up to ten.
- The same 2.x terms apply: all 2.x updates, the 2.x licences do not expire, and future major versions may be separate, optional purchases.
- Users may process their company's documents and their company's clients' documents.
- The licence belongs to the company that bought it. It may not be resold, and may not be passed to, shared with or used by a client organization.
- It is a licence for up to five people, not a shared workspace, a server or an enterprise platform: each user works in their own copy of Agnos.
- A company that needs more users can buy another Company Pack, or single Pro licences.
1.4 Moving and reassigning licences
You may move a licence from one of your computers to another whenever you like: deactivate the old device on the licence screen, then activate the new one. A dead or stolen computer does not cost you a device: ask support and we will free it.
A company may move a Company Pack seat when the person using it leaves or changes role: deactivate their devices on the licence screen, then activate the new person’s. If a device is gone, ask support and we will free it. The person who left may no longer use it.
Outside the team a Company Pack was bought for, you may not share a key with anyone else or sell it, and you may not use a Pro licence for more than one person, or on more than two devices at a time.
2. What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense, rent or publish your licence key.
- Take Agnos apart to work out how it is built, decompile it, or get round the licence checks, except where the law says you may do so anyway (in the EU and the UK it does, for interoperability, and nothing here overrides that).
- Remove or hide our name, notices or the licence screen.
- Use Agnos to break the law, or to process material you have no right to process.
3. Your documents and your output
Your documents are yours. Agnos runs on your computer and does not send them anywhere: see the privacy policy for the complete list of what Agnos sends and when.
Anything Agnos produces from your documents is yours. Cleaned text, chunks, exports, datasets, manifests: we claim no rights over them, and they stay yours after a refund, after your licence ends, and after you uninstall.
You are responsible for having the right to use the documents you import, and for what you do with what comes out.
4. Third-party components
Agnos bundles open-source components. They are listed, with their licences and their licence text, in THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt, which ships with the program. Those components are covered by their own licences, not by this agreement.
5. Updates
All 2.x updates are included in Pro and in the Company Pack. We may change, add or remove features between releases. We may add new paid add-ons; those are separate, and nothing you already paid for is taken away to sell back to you.
6. No warranty
Agnos is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of defects, that it suits any particular purpose, or that it will keep working on a future version of Windows.
Agnos is not a safety net. It will not reliably find every piece of personal information in your documents, and its cleaning rules are heuristics: they decide what a passage looks like, not whether it is true, current or safe to use. Check the output before you rely on it.
Keep your own backups. Agnos keeps your library under your user profile and does not delete a project unless you ask it to, but no program is a substitute for a backup.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with Agnos is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect losses.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Ending this licence
You may stop using Agnos at any time. We may end your licence if you break clause 2, and if we do, you may keep everything Agnos has already produced from your documents.
A refund ends the licences it paid for: see the refund policy. Agnos keeps working without a licence, as it does after the trial: everything but exporting.
9. Refunds
Covered by the refund policy published alongside this agreement, which forms part of it.
10. Changes to this agreement
A new version applies to releases published after it. The version you accepted continues to cover the copy you already have.
